Wineries & Vineyards

 
You may not think of the Santa Cruz Mountains as wine country like our Napa counterpart, but the history of winemaking here dates back more than 100 years. There are numerous wine tasting rooms scattered around Santa Cruz County with a large number on the Westside, but Soquel is also home to quite a few! In downtown Soquel, you can find Vinocruz Wine Bar & KitchenWargin Wines, and Bargetto Winery. If you travel further up the mountain, you will find Soquel VineyardsEverett Family Farms, and Bertaux Vineyards.

Recreation

Anna Jeann Cummings Park

 
Popular for a good reason, people from all over Santa Cruz County flock to Anna Jean Cummings Park. The park is commonly referred to as Blue Ball Park because of the large blue cement balls that are staggered along the hillside. The 95-acre park includes a large playground, pavilion style picnic areas with BBQs, multiple athletic fields, and walking trails.

Land of Medicine Buddha

 
Looking for a place to hit refresh? Then you may want to look into Land of Medicine Buddha, an environmentally conscious meditation and retreat center on 108 acres in the Santa Cruz Mountains. While Land of Medicine Buddha is an active Buddhist community, they invite you to come and explore their sacred center which includes miles of hiking trails within the redwood forest.

Soquel Demonstration Forest

 
If mountain biking is your jam, you’ll be excited to discover that the Soquel Demonstration Forest is just a short trek up the mountain from Soquel. With miles of singletrack and the famous Flow Trail you’ll be wanting to spend every weekend out exploring them.
